Summary
At The Computer Doctors a Level 1 Help Desk Technician is on the front line to support and triage a wide variety of IT problems. This is a position where you don’t necessarily need any formal experience, but will learn a lot in a short period of time. You will need that penchant for technology problem solving, so if you’re already who your family and friends seek out when they have computer problems this position could be a great fit to grow in the IT industry.
What You Need
- A passion to help people solve their technology problems.
- Professional appearance and great communication skills (written and verbal).
- Fluency in using Microsoft Windows (10+), Microsoft Office, and Gmail.
- Ability to clearly document resolutions to problems and customer interactions.
- Ability to translate Geek to English.
- Familiarity with the anatomy of a computer and basic networks.
We Would Love You To Have (but not required)
- Experience building computers.
- Experience setting up home networks.
- Work history with heavy customer service interactions.
- Fast fast fast typing.
- Basic understanding of VoIP technologies.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing front-line triage and troubleshooting directly with end-users.
- Working in the field at our clients’ businesses and homes.
- Documenting your work and resolutions in real time.
- Assist engineers on deployments and projects.
Education & Certifications
- Hands on experience > Certifications.
- VMware, Microsoft, CompTIA certifications helpful, but not required.
Job Details
- Salary ranges $15-18 / hour based on experience.
- Full time Monday – Friday 9-5 with possible after hours & weekend project/on-call.
- Ability to partially work from Home after training period.
